Case 3
This is an adenocarcinoma of the pancreas. An irregular tan-white mass fills most of the pancreas, resulting in biliary tract obstruction to produce the presenting problem of jaundice in this patient. The fixed liver at the left in this image appears green because formalin fixative has oxidized the bilirubin to biliverdin. The dark red cut surface of the spleen is seen at the far right.
