EHSL offering new EndNote X3 classes

Eccles Library’s Education Services will be offering free training workshops in EndNote X3 in the coming months. EndNote is a software tool for publishing and managing bibliographies. It can be used to locate selected bibliographic data and create bibliographies for curricula vitae, manuscripts, grant proposals, term papers and other publications.
First, Jeanne Le Ber, our excellent Education Librarian, will be offering two-hour classes in EndNote X3 basics, including importing references, using remote databases, and Cite While You Write. The schedule for this semester is as follows:

  1. Friday, January 22, 9:00 – 11:00 am
  2. Wednesday, February 3, 8:00 – 10:00 am
  3. Wednesday, February 24, 8:00 – 10:00 am
  4. Wednesday, March 17, 2:00 – 4:00 pm
  5. Monday, April 5, 9:00 – 11:00 am

Second, Donna Kirking, Training Specialist with EndNote, will provide four, 1.5 hour special training sessions over two days at the end of January. Each class will focus on different uses of end note: building an EndNote Library, Cite While You Write, EndNote Web, and Advanced Q & A. Ms. Kirking will be on campus  January 27 – 28, 2010 offering the following training opportunities:

  • Wednesday, January 27:
    • Building an EndNote Library, 8:00  – 9:30 am
    • Using EndNote Cite While You Write, 9:45 – 11:00 am
  • Thursday, January 28
    • EndNote Web for EndNote Users
    • Advanced EndNote Questions and Answers

There is no fee to attend any of these opportunities but registration is required. Interested participants can register for any of the free workshops and classes the library offers on our class registration page.
