April 10 – LIFT Forum — The U & You; student stories

The Wednesday, April 10 Library and Information Technology Forum features Tony Sams who will present The U & You: An Asynchronous Human Library, a session focused on a project collecting student stories. Please join us in the Eccles Health Sciences Education Building, Room 5100 B at 12:05 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

The U & You project seeks to build a longitudinal collection of students’ academic and social growth. The project consists of two parts:
1. Interviews with students that are transcribed and assigned metadata for relevant recall.
2. Development of a website to access the stories, by searching for metadata on the participant

The U & You project is producing original documents (interviews) in the form of local oral histories and experimenting with an entirely new “collection” that is social in origin, and special in the access it provides to the personal experiences of the U’s student population.

Tony Sams is the Digital Scholarship Consultant and Project Manager, Digital Scholarship Lab in the Faculty Center at the J. Willard Marriott Library.

Join us in the Spencer F. and Cleone P. Eccles Health Sciences Education Building, Room 5100 B at 12:05-1:00 p.m. for this program.

For more details, visit the LIFT Forum page. Program can be viewed from off-site via link from the web page; and available on demand after the program.
