Appy Hour Recap- October

oct- ehrOn October 10, Swapnil Sawant and Travis Turner, two students from The GApp Lab (Therapeutic Games and Apps Lab) presented two recent projects- Open EHR App and Doodle Health- at Appy Hour.

Open EHR app is available for download at http://gapp.eaemgs.utah.edu/wordpress/ehr/. It is a free Android-based app designed for developing countries or people with inconsistent health care providers. The app enables the patient to carry their medical record with them and have their health care professional easily add notes.

oct- doodle healthDoodle Health is an interactive website that The GApp Lab created in partnership with the University of Utah Department of Biomedical Informatics and the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library. Doodle Health allows participants to draw or guess medical images or pictographs. Pictographs are used in patient education materials, prescription information, and on other health materials; however, many pictographs are either incomprehensible or culturally biased. Doodle Health is an attempt to use crowd sourcing to generate better health pictographs! See it for yourself at www.doodlehealth.com.
