Appy Hour Recaps: December 2014 and February 2015

On Friday, December 12, Lisa Carcelli presented “MyFitnessPal”. This app was used during the University of Utah’s Holiday Fitness Challenge. MyFitnessPal is an all-encompassing health tracker. In addition to the fitness and food tracking options, there are several great features. Lisa’s favorite feature is the bar-code scanner to upload food/drink products into her tracker. Give MyFitnessPal a try!

feb- myair healthOn Wednesday, February 18, Steve Packham presented an app that he helped to develop called “myAir Health”. Using EPA  data from local monitoring sites, myAir Health calculates the amount of air-borne contaminants that you breathe into your lungs. MyAir Health estimates the optimum time period for work, play, or exercise so you don’t overexposure yourself. In Steve’s option, you should never let the excuse of air quality prevent you from exercising; you may just need to adjust the time or your exertion level. Give myAir Health a try!

Both MyFitnessPal and myAir Health are available for Android and iOS. View other featured Appy Hour apps here.
