The guest speaker, Dr. Lina Lander is the lead liaison for research institutions at Apple Inc., in this role she works on innovative projects to advance universities’ research, teaching, and service initiatives.
Dr. Lander will share a few iOS productivity apps for researchers and show the potential of Apple’s new ResearchKit, an open source software framework for easily creating apps. Plan for an hour presentation with Q&A afterwards.
Dr. Lina Lander is Research Development Executive with Apple Inc. Lina earned her Doctorate of Science (Sc.D.) from Harvard University and Bachelor and Master of Science from the University of Toronto. Prior to Apple, Dr. Lander was an Associate Professor at the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She has led numerous research and consulting projects in epidemiology, occupational health, surveillance, and evaluation of injury risk factors. As the Graduate Program Director, Dr. Lander has established a Ph.D. program in epidemiology, the first such program in Nebraska. She developed and taught epidemiology and public health courses to masters, doctoral, and medical students. Lina has authored over 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals and presented at over 60 national and international conferences. Dr. Lander speaks internationally on utilizing technology in research, teaching, and clinical practice. As the lead liaison for research institutions at Apple Inc., Dr. Lander works on innovative projects to advance universities’ research, teaching, and service initiatives.
