Dr. Mary Catherine Bateson
Monday, April 23, 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
College of Social Work Okazaki Community Meeting Room

Mary Catherine Bateson will share her thoughts and research on the impact of improved health and longevity on marriage, childbearing, education, work, and retirement. Most recently, she has focused on a phase she terms “Adulthood II,” the period of relatively robust health that precedes the onset of frail old age. Dr. Bateson is a cultural anthropologist, linguist, Middle East specialist, and author who approaches her work from a multi-disciplinary perspective. This event is free and open to the public.

For more information, please contact:
Scott Wright (801-585-9542, e-mail:scott.wright@hsc.utah.edu)
Fran Wilby (801-585-9276, frances.wilby@socwk.utah.edu)

Parking: You can park near the event in a lot labeled “Visitor Parking” (blue sign). This lot is known as the Campus Bookstore lot. It is located on 1500 East and South Campus Drive, across from Rice Eccles Stadium and next to the College of Social Work. Parking costs $2 the first hour and $1 every hour after that. The lot is open until 10PM and there should be plenty of room. Once in the building, the keynote will be in the Okazaki Community Meeting Room #155.
