BLOG moving to new server

The BHIC blog is moving to a new server. You will get an email that lets you know your are now subscribed to a new blog. Its just the BHIC blog. Also, the emails that come will say New Wordpress Article. I'm hoping to get that changed, but i'm not sure i can.

Disney Minnie Grants to Support Global Youth Service Day Projects

The Walt Disney Company ( http://www.disney.com/ ) and Youth Service America ( http://www.ysa.org/ ) will award grants of up to $500 each to support youth-led service projects through the Disney Minnie Grant program. These grants support youth (ages 5-14) in planning and implementing service projects in their community. Information on participating in clinical trials

Family-centered Intervention Effectively Reduces Risky Behavior Among Hispanic Youth

"Negotiating Research Relationships with Inuit Communities: A Guide for Researchers," published by the Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami and Nunavut Research Institute, is available online at http://www.itk.ca/publications/ResearchRelationships.pdf. The guide was written as a follow-up, and complement, to the 1998 joint Nunavut Research Institute/Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami booklet entitled "Negotiating Research Relationships: A Guide for Communities" that was written to help Inuit community members understand their rights and responsibilities in negotiating research relationships. Librarians in Los Angeles, San Francisco Catalogue HIV/AIDS Materials

Librarians in Los Angeles and San Francisco have finished cataloguing hundreds of thousands of HIV/AIDS documents and have made the documents available to the public, the Los Angeles Times reports. The ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives http://www.onearchives.org/ received a $195,000 grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission to catalogue the materials. NHPRC also awarded a shared $170,000 grant to a library at the University of California-San Francisco and the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Historical Society http://www.glbthistory.org/. It took three years for librarians to catalogue the documents. Low Literacy Other Language Materials

Developed with a grant from the Minnesota Literacy Council, see these ESL materials for use online or to print out with non-native speakers and with low level literacy students. The are available, along with translated version of the material in several languages at http://www.mcedservices.com/medex2/medex2.htm. These interactive health literacy exercises provide practice in 3 areas: Understanding food and reading a nutrition label, understanding basic information about diabetes and basic information about high blood pressure.
