Welcome to the Clinical Library!

The library is here for you. Please let us know how we can assist you in enhancing your experience here at University Hospital, as well as when you return home and continue the healing process. The library is open from 6:00 AM to midnight everyday of the year, including holidays. Our services include:
  • Research Assistance - from trained library staff to help you find information addressing your health concerns and questions.
  • Books and Magazines - addressing many health topics, written in understandable terms.
  • Online Access - to quality health information sources that have been pre-evaluated by librarians.
  • Internet Access - for many uses including research and email. Library staff can assist you in setting up and using an email account through one of the free online email services.
  • Photocopy and Computer Printing Services.
  • Popular Reading Materials - donated from other libraries.

  • American Burn Association

    The American Burn Association is dedicated to improving the lives of everyone affected by burn injury through patient care, education, research and advocacy.

  • Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation

    Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation serves seriously ill children. Browse their programs to find many helpful resources.

  • Burn Surviviors Online

    Founded in 1994, Burn Survivors Online (BSO) is a leading interactive Internet resource providing general medical information on burn injuries and a range of avenues offering peer support for burn survivors and their families. This Website includes burn survivors' profiles and other group-oriented support tools, plus information on many aspects of burn injury and care.

  • Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation

    Founded in 1971, the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation works in partnership with firefighters, educators, and burn care professionals to develop innovative programs and services. Their Website includes burn survivor and prevention education resources, and more.

  • University Hospital's Burn Center

    The University Hospital's Burn Center is an adult and pediatric intensive care and rehabilitation unit located at University Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. This Website provides care information on several aspects of burn injury, plus answers to frequently asked questions from both the general public and healthcare providers that address care and prevention issues.

  • Burn Camp

    The University Hospital's Burn Center and other organizations sponsors several summer camps for children, adolescent and adult burn patients. These activities help patients develop coping skills for dealing with their injuries, increase self-esteem, and benefit from interaction with other burn patients. Burn unit staff members, including nurses, physical therapists, professional counselors, and local firefighters assist with the camp experience.

  • Arizona Burn Center

    This Website includes much information on first aid, prevention, fire escape planning and burn injury facts under "burn tips", plus educational resources for providers. The Arizona Burn Center is located at the Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

  • Miracle Flights for Kids

    Miracle Flights for Kids is a non-profit organization that provides free air transportation for children.

  • International Association of Fire Fighters

    The International Association of Fire Fighters is an AFL - CIO union affilate. Their Website includes safety information and product hazard for fire fighters and the general public. The IAFF also sponsors burn camps and other programs through the IAFF Burn Foundation.
