distance education, outreach, and telehealth. Each area exemplifies the rapid growth
in the field of health and technology instigated by local governments,
institutions of higher education and businesses on both a national and international

DISTANCE EDUCATION
National Center for Education Statistics
National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) offers a comprehensive list of publications
about distance education in postsecondary school. NCES is a branch of the Institute of Education
Sciences which serves to advance the field of education research, making it more rigorous in
support of evidence-based education. The Institute consists of the National Center for Education
Research, the National Center for Education Statistics, and the National Center for Education Evaluation
and Regional Assistance.
Sloan Consortium
The purpose of the Sloan Consortium (Sloan-C) is to help learning organizations continually improve
quality, scale, and breadth according to their own distinctive missions, so that education will become
a part of everyday life, accessible and affordable for anyone, anywhere, at any time, in a wide variety

Network for Ontario Distance Educators
The Node website is a base of professional support and communication providing independent research, online resources, professional discussion forums, and publications concerning online learning technologies. The Node was established in 1996 as the Network for Ontario Distance Educators. The initial objectives were to promote cooperation among distance educators in universities and community colleges in the province of Ontario, Canada and to provide leadership for their exploration of new learning technologies.

There are also lists of hospitals and physicians, a medical encyclopedia and a dictionary,
health information in Spanish, extensive information on prescription and nonprescription drugs,
health information from the media, and links to thousands of clinical trials.
Partners in Information Access
The Partners in Information Access for the Public Health Workforce is a collaboration of U.S.
government agencies, public health organizations and health sciences libraries. It is designed
to assist public health workforce find and use information effectively to improve and protect
the public's health.
United Health Foundation
United Health Foundation provides information in support of the health and medical decisions made
by physicians and health professionals, individuals and community leaders that lead to better health
outcomes and healthier communities.
Utah Area Health Education Centers
Utah AHEC is a consortium of regional representatives working to improve access to health care
through education.

Center for Telehealth
