Method of Administration
- Ask if the patient has had nitrous oxide before, and ascertain if they had any problems with it (refer to contraindications).
- The patient's blood pressure and heart rate should be taken
- Flow: Generally administer about 100 ml/kg body weight/minute, e.g. about 6-10 liters/minute to the average adult. The reservoir bag should always be full or almost full.
