Alice has worked at Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library since November 2001 (Current CV). She earned her Masters of Library Science from Emporia State University in August 2002. Alice earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Brigham Young University in 1972 and was a practicing RN until she returned to school for her Masters degree.
As Interprofessional Education Librarian, Alice works with the other departments on the Health Sciences campus to promote the four coure competency domains of the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC): Values/Ethics for Inter-professional practice; Roles/Responsibilities for Collaborative Practice; Inter-professional Communication; and Inter-professional Teamwork and Team-Based care. She participates on the IPE Committee, the Health Literacy subcommittee, and the Clinical Team Experience. Additionally, she assists with Virtual Reference and teaching classes on library resources.
Alice is currently participating in a research project to evaluate providers' information needs in the care of older adults by identifying questions that arise during patient encounters. These questions will be evaluated and categorized and then linked via patient's electronic health record to resources that help answer those information needs. The goal of the project is to improve access state-wide.
Alice is the mother of 5 children, 9 grandchildren, and enjoys the beach, hiking in the mountains, biking, traveling, raquetball and learning.
