Jeanne Le Ber has worked at the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library since 1979. She received her Masters of Library and Information Science from Brigham Young University in December 1992. Jeanne served as the Education Librarian from 1994 until 2010.
Recently appointed as the Associate Director for Education and Research, Jeanne is responsible for public services, including operations of the front desk and reference, and she directs and mentors the Education, Interprofessional Education and Research Librarians.
Jeanne co-chairs the Biomedical Information and Informatics Thread (BMII), one of ten thread being integrated into the School of Medicine's new curriculum. As part of this effort, Jeanne collaborates with Denise Beaudoin from Biomedical Informatics, Amy Honisett, Education Librarian, and academic faculty and staff to incorporate information and informatics goals and objectives into SOM course work. Jeanne also serves on the College of Nursing Baccalaureate Committee.
Jeanne is the current editor of eSynapse and she co-coordinates the Library and Information Technology Forum, which is generally held the first Wednesday of each month at Noon in the Eccles Health Sciences Education Building. The Forum is one way the library informs the health sciences community of innovations in electronic resources and technologies. In addition, Jeanne coordinates the annual InfoFair and Mayden Lecture. In her free time, Jeanne is an avid birdwatcher (497 North American birds on her life list) and member of the Great Salt Lake Audubon society.
