As Director, Jean administers the health sciences library and its branch library, the Hope Fox Eccles Clinical Library. She oversees the interdisciplinary Spencer F. and Cleone P. Eccles Health Sciences Education Building; serves as principal investigator for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, MidContinental Region; administers the budget, strategic planning, and formulates policy for library resources (including endowed chair), programs, and services; advances new and innovative technologies in the health professions curricula; supports health sciences faculty development in using new technologies for patient care, education and research; provides campus leadership in open access, the institutional repository, distance education, telemedicine, streaming video, and networking.
