    Mary E. Youngkin
Picture of Mary E. Youngkin and Rosslyn Blade Mary Youngkin received her B.A. in English from the University of Iowa in 1972 and headed west. She joined the Eccles Health Sciences Library team in 1974 and refuses to leave. Despite the fact that she is a loyal fan of Notre Dame, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Running Utes, Brigham Young University granted her an MLS in 1987.

Her chief library responsibilities are coordination of the Reference Department and database services, but she enjoys the excitement of teaching information resources in an era of daily change, and along with other members of the library's education team, specializes in classes focused on biomedical resources.

MaryY authors the library's electronic journals web page, and has become responsible for selection, licensing and provision of these increasingly popular resources. Mary participates in Utah Academic Library Consortium collection development activities related to the electronic resources on Academic Pioneer, and hopes you will join her in volunteering for University committees.

She is an avid gardener who is willing to field horticultural questions as well as assist with health sciences research. A confessed Celtophile, Mary is still looking for that sabbatical project which would allow her to receive a paycheck while walking the beaches of Ireland and the Highlands of Scotland.
