Request items via ILLiad

How long will it take?

Many articles are delivered within hours. Some take longer, but are typically supplied within one full business day. Delivery time varies depending on the complexity of the request. Loans of books are usually delivered within 1 to 2 weeks due to shipping time.

Is there a cost?

Interlibrary loans are subsidized by the Eccles Health Sciences Library. Fees may be assessed for large projects including systematic reviews. Additionally, requested items that cost the ILL department $100 or more to obtain will result in consultation from our team. Before ordering 50 or more documents, requesters are asked to contact the interlibrary loan office by phone (801) 581-5282 or via email (ehsl-ill@lists.utah.edu).

Projects that are part of student coursework may be exempted from billing depending on scope of project and instructor sign off.

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
