Borrow
Borrowing physical print books requires valid card or permit:
- UCard: Current University of Utah students, staff and faculty
- Utah Academic Library Consortium (UALC):
Students, staff and faculty with current ID cards from a UALC school, can register their ID card for borrowing privleges - Library Permits for Utah Residents, non-affiliates of The University of Utah:
- Campus libraries borrowing privileges, $100 per year: includes borrowing physical circulating items from Eccles Health Sciences, Marriott & Quinney Law libraries.
- Eccles Health Sciences Library book borrowing privileges:
- $50 per year
- $25 per year (for practicing health care providers in Utah)
- $15 per quarter
Note: All permits are non-refundable.
Loan Periods and Fines:
- Books, Theses, Documents
- 60 days, 1 renewal, .25 /day fine
- Bound Journals
- 3 days, no renewal, $1.00/day fine
- Unbound Journals
- Do not circulate
- Audiovisuals
- 1 week, no renewal
- Closed Reserve
- 2 hours, $1.00/ hour fine
- Open Reserve
- Unlimited use in the library
- Overnight Checkout, $1.00/hour fine
- Computer Software
- In-Library Use only

- Library items checked out
- Items requested via ILLiad (Interlibrary Loan)
Request
Request items from any library:
- (Articles, books, chapters, documents or audiovisuals.)
- All loans are subject to U.S. Copyright law.
- Fees may apply.
- ILLiad (more on Interlibrary Loan & Document Delivery.)
- Loansome Doc - PubMed users can order articles via PubMed's "Order" option
- Pull Service via the Library Catalog
Request books from Marriott or Quinney Law library for pick up at Eccles Health Sciences Library:- Find the item you want in the library catalog, click "Locations & Requests" to view physical print items.
- Log IN to My Account located in upper right corner of library catalog page.
- Click the "Request" link near the item you want.
- Type Eccles if you want item delivered to Eccles Library for pickup.
