Navigating the Case
Navigating through PediCases is very easy. You use the pull-down menus and buttons in the top frame which will look like this once you start the case:
Menus

The pull-down menu on the left side of the frame is the main menu. Use this pull-down menu to move between major sections of the case.
You should start with the first section and move sequentially through the sections. Instructions for navigating within each section will appear on the first screen of each section. Optional asides cover materials in greater depth and can be reviewed at any time.
Buttons
You can click on any of these buttons in the top frame at any time:
- Notebook button
As you work through the case, you will keep your findings in a notebook. You can refer to your notebook at any time, by pressing the "Notebook" button. You may print your Notebook findings by choosing "Print Frame" from the "File" menu (Netscape 3.0x) or clicking the "Print Notebook" button (Netscape 4.0x). View your empty Notebook now by clicking this Notebook button:
- Mentor button
If at any time you have a problem with the case, or are unsure what to do next, just click this button! I will appear in a pop-up browser window to guide you with context-sensitive help. Try it now by clicking this Mentor button:
- References Button
The references section includes:
- Glossary of the most frequently used terms in developmental and educational evaluations and treatment plans.
- Diagnostic Criteria - diagnostic criteria from the DSM-IV and DSM-PC for several disorders.
- Summary of Federal IDEA law, which protects the educational rights of students with learning disabilities.
