Many Utah women report they are in good health. However, a substantial number of women face serious challenges obtaining health care and meaningful information.
- 13.5% of women have no health insurance
- 17.8% of women report they do not have a personal health care provider
- 41.2% of women did not have a routine check-up in the past year
- 12.3% of women (aged 18 and over) are members of a minority racial or ethnic population
- 14.8% of women reside in households with incomes below the federal poverty level
- Nearly one of 20 women (4.9%) have been diagnosed with diabetes
- 39.7% of women diagnosed with diabetes have never had a class or course in diabetes education*
