NOVEL/Walsh Collection: Replacement of "Broken" files, Add Video Records

1) Download all PDF files from 2007 CDM collection (abstracts and PPT-PDFs) into the Walsh 2007 folder

a) Go to NOVEL web site: http://NOVEL.utah.edu

b) Go to Walsh -> 2007

c) Open each case, find the documents

d) Open each record, use the save icon when the pdf of the abstract and ppt display

e) Save the PDFs - Be sure to trim off all the garbage characters in front of the actual filename

f) Store in Walsh 2007 folder on desktop

2) Open Acq Station

3) Use Import Menu -> File to bring abstact pdf for each case into Acq Station

4) Copy unique metadata fields from CDM record into the fields in the Acq Stationfor the abstract

5) Use Import Menu -> File to bring powerpoint pdf for the case into Acq Station

6) Fill the unique fields down for the second record(to "Relation is part of" field)

7) Enter the URL obtained from Clip-Imp in the Get Media field

8) Modify the Video Clip Instructions field as needed

9) Fill down metadata as needed

10) Specify in the IDENTIFIER field, using the correct extension, either ; _pp or _video according to Walsh Naming Conventions

11) Specify in the TITLE field either ; abstract or powerpoint or presentation video

12) Repeat steps 3 -11 for each case

13) Upload all

14) Go to CDM Admin Web: http://content.lib.utah.edu/cgi-bin/admin/start.exe

15) Change to Frank B Walsh Collection

16) Approve all and Index collection

17) Browse within the CDM Admin Web site

18) Delete old, "broken" records
