The VLC Media Player from VideoLan is a very robust, cross-platform media player. It is a highly portable multimedia player for multiple audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, ogg, ...) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols. It can also be used as a server to stream in unicast or multicast in IPv4 or IPv6 on a high-bandwidth network.
Precompiled binaries are available for download on the following computer platforms:
For other operating systems where there are no precompiled binaries, the source code and the required libraries for the player are available for "build-it-yourself."
