[edit] Streaming Media Services
The Technology Assisted Curriculum Center provides a number media services to university instructors, including the preparation and internet delivery of audio and video media. Our aim is to make media that is inconvenient or impractical to use in the traditional classroom setting available online. In many cases, these are media clips an instructor would normally show in class using a video cassette or DVD. These media assets have many uses and benefit both the fully online course as well as the traditional classroom course. Our media on demand philosophy is that of maximum accessibility by all connection speeds and client configurations. Unless a project has specific needs, media prepared at TACC streams in QuickTime, Real and Windows Media each at high, medium and low bit rates.

[edit] How does it look?
Here's an example of TACC-hosted streaming media inside of a web page or WebCT course. Keep in mind that this link, when properly implemented, would be displayed within the WebCT navigation framework or within a website of your choosing.

[edit] Great! How do I get started?
It's easy! Bring your source materials to TACC and fill out a streaming media project form. We'll take care of the rest. Once we're done preparing your material, we'll send you an email containing links to your media and instructions for implementing them in your course.
[edit] Other Media Services
TACC can also help with a number of other media related tasks such a format conversion, simple media editing and production, low quantity duplication and video recording. We also help a number of faculty with PowerPoint narration whereby they can record the lecture along with the slide and package the whole thing into a downloadable media asset.
