In Fall of 2007, the University of Utah contracted with Apple's iTunes U, a free service for higher education that provides a means for managing, delivering, and accessing university-related content to interested users. iTunes U makes if very easy to deliver Podcasts through the popular iTunes software. Any institution interested in establishing a similar contract with Apple should contact their local Apple Higher Education Representative.
Visitors to the University of Utah's iTunesU (http://itunesu.utah.edu/) can select from a wide variety of subjects including university news & updates, department or program information, presentations, and course lectures. Supported files include most common forms of audio & video formats, enhanced podcasts, common image formats, text, and PDFs.
