Normal adult skin at low magnification reveals a superficial keratinizing squamous epithelium that is supported by the papillary dermis. This section of skin comes from an area with hair. A hair shaft and bulb from which the hair grows extend to the reticular dermis. Around the hair are sebaceous glands.
