Our Statistics

The Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library provides access to the published literature through licensing electronic journals that are the "version of record", replacing print journals as the industry standard. E-journals provide more content, often including supportive data and images for the disseminated research, and linkages to related content, than their past print versions. The libraries at the University of Utah have partnered to acquire access rights to over 82,000 journal titles 24x7 from any location on campus, at home or from offices. Access to this additional material has been enhanced through student library fees and through cooperative licensing with Utah state institutions of higher education. For items not locally available, the Eccles Library obtains needed items on demand at no charge to students through interlibrary loan. The Library also offers demand-driven acquisition of articles from selected journals via the Copyright Clearance Center's Get It Now Service and Labtiva's ReadCube service. The Library serves as one of eight regional medical libraries under contract with the National Library of Medicine, which manages the computer network DOCLINE that permits rapid sharing of journal articles between health sciences libraries. In addition, the Eccles Library licenses access to electronic books.
