Barriers and Belonging: Personal Narratives of Disability*

Thursdays, Sept 14 – Dec 14, 2017
Noon-1:00 PM

Location: Garden Level, Eccles Health Sciences Library

RSVP for each session weekly.

The Office of Health Equity and Inclusion Community Read for Fall 2017 will focus on different abilities/disability. The book selection for the series is Barriers and Belonging: Personal Narratives of Disability.  Starting September 14, 2017, the community is invited to gather at noon on the Garden Level of the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library, enjoy a light lunch, and have a lively discussion of the book.   Community Reads are co-sponsored by the Office of Health Equity and Inclusion, the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library (EHSL), and their partners.

Join us as we explore what it means to live with disability. Each week, we will read and discuss 3-4 personal narratives as recounted in Barriers and Belonging. Each set of 3-4 narratives is different – come to all these sessions or just a few – you don’t have to read the whole book to participate!!! Please RSVP and join us for a light lunch and conversation co-sponsored by the Office of Health Equity and Inclusion and Eccles Health Sciences Library.

*Copies of the book are available for check out at EHSL.    Check out the LibGuide with the full reading schedule and more information about the book.
