Bryan Hull is currently the Digital Publishing Program Manager at the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library at the University of Utah.

The Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library is pleased to announce the Tree of Hippocrates Education Studio. The Tree of Hippocrates Education Studio, or THE Studio, is a fully equipped multimedia lab where students, staff, and faculty can create professional quality audio and video recordings. Cameras, microphones, studio lights, and a powerful Mac computer live in THE Studio space in room 202 on the top floor of the Eccles Library supplemented by a mobile recording kit.

Do you need a space to record yourself or others? Have you been looking to start your own podcast? Host your own livestream? Need a quiet space to do lecture capture without interruption? We have several how-to guides to get you started with the basics of using the equipment and software:

  • Lecture Capture
  • Mobile Recording
  • Basic Video Recording

With minor set-up, THE Studio is always set-up ready for you to use! You can start podcasting, live streaming, or recording video or using the space in other ways that suit your needs. All you need to do is log-in to the computer and hit record!

If you have a project idea but not sure how to accomplish it or need additional help with utilizing THE Studio library faculty and staff  are available for consultation.

THE Studio is open to all students, staff, and faculty and available for reservation or drop-in sessions. To reserve the space or schedule a consultation visit or visit the front desk of the Eccles Library. Additionally, mobile recording equipment can be checked out at the front desk for 24-hours for use in and out of THE Studio space.
