Meet EHSL’s New Intern, Jenny Flake

NOTICE: Outdated Information. Contact the Help Desk for questions or resource assistance.

The EHSL will have a new intern for the Spring Semester. Jenny Flake will be working on multiple projects throughout the library, in order to learn about the many facets of a medical library.

In the Technology Department, Jenny will be working with Brandon Patterson to expand awareness of technological resources, both on campus and off. Working with Jessi Van Der Volgen, she will create YouTube videos for the NNLM and complete CHIS certification. She will also work with Erica Lake from the Hope Eccles Fox Library on the MS Buddy project, which loans iPads to patients with MS who are experiencing some form of isolation.

Currently in her last semester of her Masters of Library and Information Science program at the University of Wisconsin Madison, her masters degree has a focus on using technology within a library setting. Before she was at the EHSL, she worked at the Salt Lake City Public Library as part of the Tech League Program, and as a volunteer with the Refugee Technology Training Program. Her previous projects demonstrate a belief that technology skills and access to technological tools is for everyone.  Before she was a librarian, she worked at the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art.
