I can help you navigate the scholarly communication ecosystem, including: where to publish; how to comply with funder public access requirements; how to manage your scholarly profile, and measure your research impact. I provide instruction on author rights, copyright and Fair Use, and the ethical use of information. I am also responsible for the Eccles Library's collection of information resources, including books, journals, and databases.

I am delighted to announce that Shawn Steidinger, MLS, AHIP, will be joining the Eccles Health Sciences Library faculty as an Assistant Librarian on November 16, 2018. Shawn began her work in academic libraries at Yale in 2001. In 2007 she transitioned into medical libraries – first at Massachusetts General Hospital and then, in 2012, at Intermountain Healthcare’s Primary Children’s Hospital. Her professional career initially focused on supporting internal library systems and processes. Most recently, Shawn has been involved in providing reference services, teaching information literacy, and collaborating on literature searches to support research and quality improvement projects for physician researchers, nursing and allied health professionals.

Shawn earned a B.A. from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Library Science from Indiana University. She will be joining the Eccles Library Reference and Education department where she will provide research and instruction support to the faculty, staff, and students across UU Health disciplines.

Please join me in welcoming Shawn to the University of Utah!
