The Tree of Hippocrates Education “One Button” Studio is ready to go whenever you are!  THE One Button Studio is capable of serving all of your media needs with the touch of a button.  Simply insert a flashdrive, plug it in, and press the button to record and automatically save a variety of audio and video projects.  Located on the second floor of the Eccles Health Sciences Library, the One Button Studio is available to ALL students, faculty, and staff to use for any academic or personal project.

The One Button Studio is stocked with hardware and software that can be used to produce a wide range of projects including:

  • Podcasts using professional microphones, mixer, teleprompter, and audio recording and editing software
  • Lecture capture using Kaltura
  • Professional headshots using a variety of backdrops and professional studio lighting
  • Video projects enhanced with backdrops, green screen, and display screens

The One Button studio is constantly being updated with new equipment every year. Features that are new for 2019 include:

  • A new camera that allows you to run any combination of microphones instead of just one— including multiple lapel microphones, shotgun microphones, or a combination of the two
  • Additional sound treatments to eliminate more background noise and produce better quality recordings

The Eccles Health Sciences Library takes input about what new software and hardware they should invest in each year.  If you think something is missing from the studio, you can share your input in the user follow up survey or contact bryan.hull@utah.edu directly, and you may just see it in the upcoming year!

While the One Button studio is always open to drop ins, if you would like to reserve a specific time email ehsl-reference@lists.utah.edu with the time and dates.  If you want to use the green screen, teleprompter, multiple microphones, or a display screen, you must reserve a time in advanced so that these features can be properly set up for you.  You don’t miss out on this amazing campus resource!
