Based on the Tuskegee Experiment (an unethical clinical study where African-Americans were told they were receiving treatment, when in reality the researchers were observing the effects of untreated syphilis), the drama film stars Alfre Woodard and Laurence Fishburne. The film won four Emmys. The screening will be followed by a medical ethics discussion. Light refreshments will be provided.
This film screening is in recognition of Black History Month, highlighting the health injustices faced by African-Americans.
