The dedication of the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library took place on October 4, 1971, bringing health sciences library services to a permanent home at the University of Utah. From the beginning, we have been known for pioneering new ideas, new technologies, and innovative partnerships.
The Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library (EHSL) holds extensive digital collections documenting the history of the library. In this digital exhibition series, objects from these collections are used to create compelling visual narratives that detail everything from the construction and dedication of the library to the advent of transformative technologies and programs in the 1970’s and 1980’s.
