The recent killing of George Floyd is a reminder of the enduring history of racially-motivated violence against people of color. We add our voices to those who have spoken out against this and state that the University of Utah Libraries (Marriott Library, Eccles Health Sciences Library, and Faust Law Library) stand with those around the world who are protesting systemic oppression and violence.
The Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library notes the passing of Dr. Arthur D. Broom on May 10, 2020. Dr. Broom was born July 26, 1937 in the Panama Canal Zone.
Surgeon, teacher, dean, humanitarian – Philip Price is rightly remembered as the Founding Father of the modern-day School of Medicine. Dr. Price came to the University of Utah in 1943 to oversee the establishment of the four-year program as Chair of the Department of Surgery and Surgeon-in-Chief at the Salt Lake County General Hospital.
