Mary Youngkin began her career at the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library (EHSL) in 1975, and retired from EHSL in June 2011 after 36 years, serving as head of Reference and Public Services since the late 1980’s.
Mary was intelligent, funny, straightforward, and kind. She created the Medicinal Garden without permission, without funds, and used plants from her own garden. An excellent example of all these qualities. In memory of her initiative and her love of botany, donations can be made that will be used to continue the Medicinal Garden at EHSL.
You can contribute to this effort by clicking on our EHSL donations page. That way we can make sure your gift is designated for the Medicinal Garden.
