Art Aloud! – A Hybrid Open Mic Event

Friday, May 13, 2022, 12:00 – 1:00PM

Writing is one way to cope with all that is happening in our world, in our country, and in our lives today. Reading to a sympathetic audience is another. U of U healthcare professionals, students, faculty, patients, and family members are invited to read. All forms of spoken art are welcome; we simply ask that they are five minutes or less in length (~ 750 words). You also are welcome as our listening audience.

Many of us are still finding ways to cope with all that is happening in the world that is outside of our control – and for many of us, writing has been one of them. For eight years, UHealth has been hosting Art Aloud!, an open mic event where anyone can read a piece of their original writing, or a piece that may have moved them.

After years of exclusively virtual meetings, this upcoming event will be our first hybrid Art Aloud! The in-person event will be held on the lower level of the Eccles Health Sciences Library. The virtual portion will be hosted via zoom. To join, please register for our event and you will be sent the Zoom link and log in information: Registration is required.

Join us for friendly company and the positive energy that comes from sharing experiences during these uncertain times.

Art Aloud! is co-sponsored by the Center for Health Ethics, Arts, and Humanities; Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library; Utah Health Equity Diversity & Inclusion (UHEDI); HCI Wellness and Integrative Health Center; GME Wellness; and the Resiliency Center.
