Congratulations to Molly Knapp, MA, AHIP who was elected to the Medical Library Association (MLA) Board of Directors for a three-year term! She will officially take office at the conclusion of the MLA annual business meeting on May 21, 2025.

The MLA Board of Directors is the governing body of the Medical Library Association, a global, nonprofit educational organization with a membership of more than 2,500 institutions and professionals in the health information field. As part of the MLA Board, Molly will advise on strategic direction, policy development, leadership and advocacy for health information professionals.
Molly is a Training Development Manager the NNLM Training Office (NTO), which is housed at the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library. NTO supports the training and educational missions of the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) through the delivery of high-quality, innovative training to many types of audiences nationwide in support of the effective use of NLM information products like PubMed and MedlinePlus.gov. Congratulations to Elizabeth Frakes, who is the Chair-Elect for the Clinical Librarians and Evidence Based Practice caucus. She begins her new role June 1st.
She is an Associate Librarian for Clinical Services at the Eccles Health Sciences Library at the University of Utah. She completed her undergraduate work in Biology prior to obtaining her Masters in Information Science. Since joining the University of Utah, Ms. Frakes has specialized in clinical decision support, evidence provision, complex clinical question filtering, and teaching. Previously, she held the position of Information Scientist at the Center for Knowledge Management at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Ms. Frakes has been heavily involved in the initiative to integrate librarian services into the electronic health record as well as incorporating librarians on inpatient rounds. Elizabeth also leverages her background as a certified pharmacy technician and case manager as a foundation for her work in biomedical information science. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, cooking, and spending time with her partner and pets.
