Writing is one way to cope with all that is happening in our world, in our country, and in our lives today. Reading to a sympathetic audience is another. We’re including a theme this reading: “December Light” – in celebration of the Winter Solstice and other holidays this month that each draw our attention to light.
As a way of sharing our experiences, we will hold Art Aloud! on the last Friday of the month through September from 12-1 PM. U of U health-care professionals, students, faculty, patients, and family members are invited to read a piece of original writing. All forms of spoken art are welcome, five minutes or less in length (~ 750 words).
In our new format, just click on the Zoom link above or use the call-in number we’ve provided, and show up! Using the “Chat” function, you may sign in to read. You also are welcome as our listening audience.
Join us for friendly company and the positive energy that comes from sharing experiences during these uncertain times.
Art Aloud! is co-sponsored by the Program in Medical Ethics and Humanities, Department of Internal Medicine, School of Medicine; Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library; The Office of Health Equity & Inclusion; HCI Wellness and Integrative Health Center; GME Wellness; and the Resiliency Center.
