The Eccles Health Sciences Library (EHSL) is now featuring the Layers of Medicine exhibit of art created by medical school students enrolled in the Layers of Medicine course which addresses the human elements of healthcare and medical training that are “layered” on top of scientific knowledge and clinical skills.

Pijama Time: Creations From The Times I Should Have Been Sleeping

These pieces are a reflection of the artist’s work as a physician and his way to connect his professional life and work with his family. Four themes are presented: Visiting Places, Reminiscing Childhood, Sharing Faith as Art, and Love Everlasting. Dr. Rodríguez rediscovered his passion for creating art early in his medical career as a way to help prevent burnout and has used it as a powerful tool for resilience ever since.
