{"id":591,"date":"2011-02-19T12:05:03","date_gmt":"2011-02-19T19:05:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/library.med.utah.edu\/blog\/eccles\/?p=591"},"modified":"2011-06-01T09:31:24","modified_gmt":"2011-06-01T15:31:24","slug":"endnote-removing-the-pii-from-doi-field","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/library.med.utah.edu\/blog\/eccles\/2011\/02\/19\/endnote-removing-the-pii-from-doi-field\/","title":{"rendered":"EndNote &#8211; Removing the PII from DOI Field"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For all you EndNote users who have wanted or needed to remove the PII (publisher item identifier) from the DOI (digital object identifier) field in the EndNote record &#8212; there is now a fix that allows for automatic removal.<\/p>\n<p>EndNote provides two different files that can be added to the EndNote program folder.<\/p>\n<p>To do this &#8211; go to your <strong>C drive &gt; Program Files &gt; EndNote X4 &gt;<\/strong>. Place the <strong>enz file in the Connection folder<\/strong> and place the <strong>enf file in the Filter folder.<\/strong> (Files linked below)<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After placing the files in these folder, select the files for use. Go to Edit &gt; Connection Files &gt; Open Connection Manager and select the PubMed enz file you just added.
