\"\"<\/a>Dear Colleagues,<\/p>\n

It is my pleasure to announce Catherine B. Soehner, MLS, BSN, as the new interim executive director of the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library. Catherine is currently serving as the Associate Dean for Research and User Services at the University of Utah\u2019s J. Willard Marriott Library.<\/p>\n

During her time at the Marriott Library,\u00a0she has led the delivery of a wide range of library services, including research and information services, library instruction and training for users, and support for faculty, graduate students, and other advanced users in digital scholarship efforts. Previously, she served in academic libraries at the University of Michigan and the University of California, Santa Cruz, as well as the National Library of Medicine.<\/p>\n

As she steps into this interim role,\u00a0Catherine plans to continue to provide faculty and staff with the excellent service they have come to expect from the Eccles Health Sciences Library. She plans to work closely with the faculty and staff within health sciences to develop more interdisciplinary connections and collaborative projects across the entire campus.<\/p>\n

We extend our gratitude to Melissa Rethlefsen for serving as our interim executive director for the past year. She has done a tremendous job supporting the forward momentum of the wonderful work of the faculty and staff at the Eccles Library. She will be leaving Utah for a new opportunity at the University of Florida, and we wish her luck in this new role.<\/p>\n

We will begin a national search for a permanent replacement within the next few months.<\/p>\n
