This patient has rather severe Stage 2 rosacea (red papules and pustules), and is developing Stage 3 rosacea (rhinophyma). Most patients with rosacea respond to tetracycline, 500 mg bid, or minocycline, 100 mg bid. This patient did not respond to tetracycline, 500 mg bid, but he showed remarkable clearing with 500 mg tid.
