Preventing recurrence of anaphylaxis

In addition to epinephrine, antihistamines, and corticosteroids can be administered to provide longer term control and prevention of recurrence of the anaphylaxis in addition to the epinephrine. Any dose of diphenhydramine is generally 1 mg per kg given every six hours, and a dose of hydrocortisone is 5 mm per kg given every six hours.
