Treatment of facial warts

John L. Bezzant,M.D.

This shows two sites where light electrodesiccation and curettage had been performed (refer to picture 50), and it shows the slight defect left by the absence of the epidermis. It is important not to damage the dermis because that can cause scarring. Before treating the patient, it is important to warn them of the possibility of scarring. I generally perform this procedure only if there are a few warts, or if other treatments (freezing or Efudex) have been tried without success.
