Storage properties of nitrous oxide and oxygen
Dermatology Nitrous Oxide / Bites Nitrous Oxide--Definition

Physical Characteristics

  • Storage
    - N20 is stored in blue steel cylinders as a colorless liquid under 745 psi pressure, and is in equilibrium with the gas phase (approximately 50 atmospheres at room temperature). The tank maintains that pressure until it is empty. (Oxygen on the other hand, is stored in the gas phase, and the pressure gradually drops proportionate to the amount of gas that leaves the cylinder.)
