Funding for the Library's website is provided by the University. The Library website does not host or receive funding from advertising, nor does it participate in any banner/link exchanges. Content is provided by Library faculty and staff with editorial guidance from the Web Content Team and the Library Webmaster. Focus
Our content focuses on providing access to scholarly academic resources to advance education, research, and health care through information access, service and innovation. The library serves the educational, research, and clinical needs of health professionals, students and researchers at the Health Sciences Center, the University of Utah, the State of Utah and surrounding areas, and of the Internet.
Information accessed through this Web site is not intended nor implied to be a substitute for professional medical care. The Eccles Health Sciences Library (EHSL) is an information service only, and does not diagnose medical conditions, offer medical advice, or endorse specific products or services. Even though information professionals have reviewed the links featured here, EHSL does not control their content.
Selection Criteria
All external links to other sites are intended to be informational and do not have the endorsement of the Eccles Health Sciences Library or the University of Utah. The Library is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of other such Web sites.

- Final decision regarding inclusion or exclusion of links to external sites rests with the EHSL Webmaster/Web Services Librarian in their sole discretion, with input from the content author and the Library’s collection development team. When visitors opt to supply information through our Web forms, such as but not limited to name, email address, mailing address, etc., we do not sell, rent or give to, nor exchange with, other organizations not part of the University of Utah that information, except to fulfill a request for information or services reasonably implied by the design of our Web form together with a visitor's use of it. When visitors supply such information to us, we may use that information to contact them and/or the organizations they are part of, or programmatically make use of the information in our Web sites to generate or present information we judge useful to each such visitor.
We use Web traffic analysis tools to retrieve statistics regarding our Web sites' usage. These statistics are used to reflect usage summaries such as: general access (number of hits received), resources accessed (our most and least popular pages), visitors and demographics (IP addresses and domains), activity statistics (most/least active days), technical statistics (client errors), referrers and keywords (search engines and sites that point to our site), and browsers and platforms. These statistics are used for analyses, which may be included in reports, grant proposals, and in other published and unpublished sources.
Summary: The Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library (EHSL) sponsors staff blogs, wikis, photo sharing, video sharing, tagged websites and other social media sites to further its mission to meet the cultural, educational and informational needs of library users and community residents. The Library's sponsored sites are also a place for the public to share opinions about library related subjects and issues. Comments are welcome and will be reviewed prior to publishing. The Library reserves the right not to publish any posting, or to later remove it without notice or explanation.
