Overview
CORE: OPEN-SOURCE OPHTHALMIC EDUCATION
The John A. Moran Eye Center serves as the Division of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Utah, School of Medicine. The Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library (EHSL) has a long history of creative innovation. The Moran Clinical Ophthalmology Resources for Education (CORE) is a collaboration between these two organizations. The CORE website will serve as a dynamic, enduring and open-source educational resource for ophthalmology residents, fellows, medical students, practitioners and healthcare workers, worldwide.
CORE WEBSITE STRUCTURE
The CORE website is a categorized repository of educational materials on ophthalmologic practice and care, optimized for dissemination. Content for the CORE website is selected from Moran’s 7,000+ yearly ophthalmic surgeries and more than 100,000 patient visits each year. More than 250 resident lectures, given during the first two years of residency will be available for CORE users, as well as many of our Grand Rounds presentations—as learning and reference tools.
