Dr. Nancy J. Newman is the LeoDelle Jolley Professor of Ophthalmology, Professor of Ophthalmology and Neurology and Instructor in Neurological Surgery at the Emory University School of Medicine, where she serves as the Director of Neuro-Ophthalmology. She serves on numerous editorial boards and has over 400 publications, including scientific articles, book chapters and books, including the primary textbook in Neuro-Ophthalmology, Walsh & Hoyt's Clinical Neuro-Ophthalmology, 5th and 6th Editions. She has lectured widely throughout the world and is known for her innovative teaching style. Her main research interests include disorders of the optic nerve and mitochondrial diseases.
Dr. Valérie Biousse is the Cyrus H. Stoner Professor of Ophthalmology, Professor of Ophthalmology and Neurology at the Emory University School of Medicine. She serves on numerous editorial boards and has over 300 publications, including scientific articles, book chapters and books, including the primary textbook in Neuro-Ophthalmology, Walsh & Hoyt's Clinical Neuro-Ophthalmology, 6th Edition and the didactic book she co-authored with Nancy Newman, Neuro-Ophthalmology Illustrated. She lectures widely throughout the world and is a renowned educator. Her main research interests include cerebrovascular diseases and the eye, disorders on intracranial pressure, and the use of new technology in education.
Dr. Kedar is Professor of Ophthalmology and Neurology and Vice Chair for Education in the department of Ophthalmology at the Emory University School of Medicine. He has significant expertise in undergraduate and graduate medical education. As chair of the NANOS Curriculum committee, he authored the most recent update to the Neuro-ophthalmology curriculum and serves as the editor in chief of the Illustrated Curriculum. He has received numerous teaching awards including the NANOS Merit Award, AAO achievement award and the AAN excellence in teaching certificate. He has more than 80 journal publications, book chapters and online educational materials. His research interests include development of novel teaching methods, ophthalmic biomarkers of neurological diseases, clinical trials in neuro-ophthalmology and the impact of visual impairment on cognition. His clinical practice includes the entire gamut of visual disorders resulting from neurological diseases.
Dr. Peragallo is trained in pediatric ophthalmology, adult strabismus, and neuro-ophthalmology. His practice encompasses ocular misalignment from any cause, diplopia, and afferent visual disorders in adults and children. His interests include cranial nerve palsies, afferent visual disorders, and prevention of vision loss from pediatric brain tumors.
Dr. Beau Bruce is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Neurology at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. He is a clinical neuro-ophthalmologist and an academic clinician scientist with a PhD in Epidemiology. He is interested in the use of non-mydriatic photography in non-ophthalmic settings, the epidemiology of idiopathic intracranial hypertension, and in the design, conduct, and analysis of clinical trials and observational research studies.
