Programs for Health Professional Education Designed for the Next Generation Internet
Joseph V. Henderson, MD and Mark Noel Interactive Media Laboratory, Dartmouth Medical School, Hanover, NH 03755
Abstract:
Dartmouth's Interactive Media Laboratory has just completed a project investigating the use of broadband networks for health professional education. This involved the application, adaptation, and development of a variety of tools to develop and deliver multimedia courseware that takes advantage of broadband (including video streaming). Two exemplar applications were also developed for this environment, based on programs that were originally delivered on laserdisc. These applications (SimTrauma and Regimental Surgeon) will be demonstrated during this session.
Benefit in Attending Session:
Educators and developers interested in advanced multimedia development and Next-generation Internet will have a chance to see examples of programs applying these techniques and technologies, and to discuss their design and production.Interactive Media Laboratory
