Demonstration with Equipment
Neuroscience Images
Diane E. Smith, Ph.D. LSU Medical School - New Orleans
Abstract:
"Neuroscience Images" is a CD-ROM formatted to run on either a PC or MAC system. This collection of neuroanatomical images and quiz questions is designed to assist medical and graduate students in becoming familiar with the structures and pathways of the central nervous system as well as the relationships of these structures to each other. It may be used in conjunction with the lab manual (available separately) or as a stand-alone tutorial. It is also anticipated that these images and quiz questions will be helpful to residents for neuroanatomical review. The quiz section is designed with learning response answers which provide the user with images and comments for the incorrect as well as correct responses. The convenience of labeled images and quize images on a CD-ROM enables the student to study in whatever environment he or she finds most conducive to learning.
Benefit in Attending Session:
The demonstration of the "Neuroscience Images" CD-ROM will allow participants a hands-on opportunity to browse both the image and quiz sections and to explore the ease with which one can switch from image to quiz mode and vice versa. Participants can explore the potential for the use of "Neuroscience Images" in their courses. A limited number of copies of the CD-ROM will be available for purchase at the demonstration.
