A CD-ROM on Breast Cancer Education for Health Professionals

Abstract:

This presentation will provide an overview of the design and development of a comprehensive breast cancer education program for family physicians and other health professionals. This CD-ROM based education program was designed mainly by using Authorware. The program integrates audio, video, text, slides, and interactive guides to present the contents and facilitate learning. The major emphasis of this presentation is on demonstrating the process of designing and developing the CD-ROM by utilizing a collaborative team strategy which successfully combined the expertise of various faculty members within a university.

Benefit in Attending Session:

The participants will be able to see at least three things:

(1) An interactive CD-ROM presenting comprehensive knowledge in relation to breast cancer education for both medical and health related professionals.
(2) The process of design and development of the CD-ROM using Authorware as the main authoring tool.
(3) The team process to bring together and combine the expertise of various faculty members to achieve this goal.
